New 1053™ HDTV Series

New Fischer 1053 TM fiber-optic connector for HDTV Cameras
the guarantee of a seamless transition to HD

Apples, Switzerland, June 29, 2005

Fischer Connectors introduces the first fiber-optic HDTV Broadcast Camera Connector that meets the Broadcast industry’s requirements for an effortless transition to fiber-based HDTV cameras.
With its ease of use, quick and simple termination, fast on-site install-ability, and a lower total installation cost than is possible with presently available solutions, Fischer 1053 TM HDTV Connectors provide the answer many camera manufacturers, mobile truck providers, production centers and broadcast studios have been waiting for to make the transition to fiber-based HDTV cameras.

Co-developed in an exclusive partnership with Corning ® - a leader in the manufacturing of optical fiber, the 1053 TM series combines the field-tested reliability of Fischer’s established Broadcast Triax connectors with the proven technology of Corning ® UniCam ® “No epoxy – No polish” fiber-optic contacts. Eliminating the difficult procedure of polishing fiber-optic elements, as well as the need of using special epoxies, the Fischer 1053 TM Connector makes it now practical and economical to field-assemble HDTV camera connector anywhere in a revolutionary termination time of 30 minutes – that is 50% faster than currently available competitive products. To ensure compatibility with all HDTV broadcast camera manufacturers, the Fischer 1053 TM Connector is SMPTE signal-compliant.

In recognition of outstanding achievement in the advancement of the art and science of video technology, the Fischer 1053 TM HDTV Camera Connector was rewarded with the “Television Broadcast Top Innovation Award” for “TECHNOLOGY INSIGHT FOR THE BOTTOM LINE” at the 2005 NAB show.
