1051 Triax Connectors – new and improved
Globally exploited in Studios and Outside Broadcasting for more than 30 years, the established 1051 Triax plug and cable receptacle have been redesigned to achieve faster cable termination and easier maintenance.The internal parts of the new 1051 connectors have been optimized and their number reduced, so that the cable termination process is simplified and faster, whilst requiring no special tools. Contact blocks can be easily interchanged without having to re-terminate the connector. This greatly simplifies field maintenance and enables quick swaps of connector genders from male to female and vice versa. To protect and improve connection reliability a cable bend relief has been integrated into the connector design. Additionally, locked-in-place sealing caps and easily detachable protective sleeves provide excellent protection for field applications where dirt, sand and moisture are everywhere. Made of new material, the re-designed 1051 series is lighter but still retains its strength and sealing properties. Accepting external cables diameter from 8.3mm to 11.3mm, the new Fischer 1051 Triax Series is fully compatible with its preceding model, providing an opportunity to seamlessly upgrade existing equipment.
